Lilly Pulitzer Opens in The Streets at Southpoint!

LILLY HAS ARRIVED!

 That’s right! If you haven’t heard, Lilly Pultizer has officially opened at Streets and I for one, am VERY excited.

 

For me, Lilly is the ultimate summertime retailer.  With all of the bold colors and floral prints, along with the beachy feel of her designs, it just screams long warm days we love here in the south.

The authentic resort fashion brand has opened  its twenty-second company-owned retail store right here with a 2,215 square foot location located on the first floor near Vera Bradley, Cache and Sperry.

It all started 50ish years ago with a simple shift dress in Palm Beach, Florida. Today, Lilly Pulitzer provides a collection of modern resort wear inspired by the authentic Palm Beach lifestyle.

 Inside, the space is almost as pretty as the clothes on display! It is all hand-painted and designed by the company’s in-house print design team, and will feature the bright colors and prints Lilly we all love.

The store provides savvy shoppers with all of the brand’s categories:  women’s, men’s and children’s collections as well as gifts and accessories including bags, shoes, jewelry, and eyewear.

They officially opened on Saturday with a great party! Did you go? Have you seen the new store yet? First, Sunglass Hut!

Smith Optics knows how to protect your eyes from the summer sun. After all, they’re based in SUN VALLEY, Idaho home to movie stars and ski slopes. This outdoor-themed company also makes some of my favorite shades for both the athletic and style conscious among us. And I just love a pair of black wrap-around sunglasses.

Next up, we have Versace with a very chic wire framed pair. I like a style that is confident but understated like these.  And let’s face it, Versace knows style!

Last from Sunglass Hut, I selected some shades from Gargoyles.  This is a brand that’s been around for a while, but I still rarely see anyone wearing them. Which for me is a plus- you get a bit of exclusivity! I like how these have the lok of a classic aviator style, but just more modern.

Next, Solstice Sunglass Boutique!

First up, it’s one of the most timeless sunglass styles of all time, worn by everyone form JFK to Tom Cruise: Ray-Ban’s Wayfarer.  But we all know about the classic black, so ditch the herd and step out in the understated and original tortoise style. You still get the timeless look, while being a little unique.

Another classic brand that’s been around forever, but few people seem to wear, is Carrera.  Ladies get a little pop of color with these purple shades, done in a very classic retro style, almost reminiscent of the Wayfarers. I really like these! Plus, the polarized lenses take care of glare form the bright sun.

Lastly from Solstice Sunglasses, I selected what are considered to be the ultimate in celebrity, high-fashion style from Prada.  These oversized black sunglasses showcase a style that has been very popular for a few years, but show no signs of slowing down!

Memorial Day is Almost Here! Is Your BBQ Ready?

Find the Perfect Swimsuit For Memorial Day Fun!

With Memorial Day coming, is your water wardrobe ready?

Memorial Day marks the unofficial start of summer and that means lot’s of summer activities, especially going to the beach or hanging out by the pool.

So how is your swimsuit situation?

Luckily, I’m always here to help!  I’ve put together a small sampling of perfectly fashionable swimsuits for the whole family!

First up, the ladies: Athleta & Macy’s

Athleta is home to a variety of designs, particularly for anyone who spends as much time in the water as they do exercising on the beach.  I wanted to include them since I know many of you like an athletic look to a swimsuit and one that is designed to stay on in the surf.

While this is essentially a bikini top, it gives you bettter coverage, support and security than you would think

This top looks much like a athletic bra, but that’s the point! You can go for a jog on the beach and then jump in to cool off or tackle a triathalon!

Tankini swimsuits are a huge hit these days and this one delivers on support and style. I really like the bold blue of this one!

However, if you’re looking for a more traditional design, Macy’s has a positively huge selection to choose from!

This two-piece style can work with multiple body types

While it looks stylish, this one-piece is designed to conceal any tummy issues

The traditional bikini, but with a little added flair

For the guys, Macy’s is also my suggestion for the perfect pair of trunks!

Board shorts are THE style right now and this tropical print can’t be beat!

Not a board short, but more of a traditional swimtrunk with a clean color design that you might even call 80’s retro

I really love the bright pattern and color of these board shorts. Same overall style, but the print offers something other than the tropical/Hawaii theme.

And for the wee-ones, Naartjie Kids has some adorable swimwear for the summer! You might want to get two they’re so cute!

You just gotta love the combination of the bow and the flamingos with this one-piece swimmie!

The perfect bikini for any beach baby!

More flamingo style! A one-peice does help concel your child’s delicate skin from the sun, making it easier to get ready for the beach!

Celebrate Gatsby Style at Brooks Brothers Flatiron!

Gatsby is at The Streets at Southpoint, and

I’m not just talking about the motion picture!

Brooks Brothers Flatiron Shop presents…

Brooks Brothers collaborated with the film’s costume designer, two time Oscar-winner Catherine Martin, for all of the men’s clothing in the film. In fact, it was F.Scott Fitzgerald’s affinity for Brooks Brothers (mentioned in the book repeatedly) that gave Catherine the idea.

She poured over old Brooks Bothers pictures and catalogs from the 1920’s to get an exact feel for how to dress the stars of the film. And if you’ve seen the movie, you can see that she nailed it! I smell Oscar #3!

In honor of the blockbuster film, Brooks Brothers has released the “Gatsby Collection”, available now at The Streets at Southpoint Flatiron location.

And now, exclusively for college students, Brooks Brothers Flatiron will take 15% off EVERYTHING when students present a valid, current college I.D.  See the store for details!

I was in the store over the weekend and snapped pics of a few of my favorite looks (not just Gatsby) for men and women!

Here are some additional looks from the new “Gatsby” line.  As you can see from the pictures, there is no mistaking the inspiration for these amazing designs.

Admittedly, I think guys clothes can be a little boring compared to what ladies get to choose from. But these styles?  GORGEOUS!
